Village people are barking mad!
In London, I wasn't the most popular of chappies at the best of times. Now I've shifted my not-so sweet derriere down into the coonry with 'er indoors and the 3 dustbin lids, it's probably got worse, especially with my recent jaunts. When I was in the Smoke, I did naff all exercise, in any rubbish shape or form, for the last ten years. I'd like to think it's because our triplets turned up discombobulating (such a top word) our routined lives. Alas, it's a lame excuse. Now I'm working from home, with no commuting in site, I feel forced to start doing some fitness nonsense......and there's only so much Jane Fonda a man can take. So, I started running with the dawn chorus. Problem is that any household that has a dog gets woken up by it barking at me like it's going out of fashion. Every morning, I pass five families that are 'canined up' who I'm sure aren't the happiest of bunnies. I see a couple of them at the local shop whilst getting the paper and I can feel the head-shaking going on behind me as they queue up. One other downside for running in the country is the lack of pavements therefore the lack of people to hide behind when a lorry ploughs through a puddle soaking me with an aqua Mexican Wave. And don't get me started on how many ditches I've had to jump into avoiding fat old tractors and combine dooberry wotsits. I dunno, you take the man out of London......
